Newark Reservoir Trail
Where: 250 S. Park Drive, Newark, DE
Popular for birding as well as cycling, walking, and running, Newark Reservoir Trail is well regarded for its somewhat easy 1.8 mile loop trail located at William Redd Jr. Park. Fully paved and offering amazing views of the reservoir, it’s no surprise that this trail is popular but thankfully, you can still find solitude here during quieter times of the day. James F. Hall Trail
Where: Cleveland Ave and South Chapel Street, Newark, DE
Running along White Clay Creek, the James F. Hall Trail is a 3.6 mile trail that connects the University of Delaware to the Judge Morris Estate. Pomeroy and Newark Rail Trail
Where: Wyoming Road and Paper Mill Road, Newark, DE
Considered an easier trail, this 5.3-mile trail takes roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete. Perfect for walking and running, dogs are also welcome as long as they are kept on a leash. As you walk along the trail, you’ll see a mix of residential areas and natural surroundings.
